One end plugs into the wiring harness in your dash, the other end is bare wires that can be crimped or soldered to your aftermarket stereo's wires. If you ever want to switch back to the stock radio just unplug the adapter. Color coded using EIA standards, with a color chart on the packaging to match up to your aftermarket radio. (For factory harness that has two plug connectors going into back of stock radio, the most common configuration. Not for use if your factory radio has just one plug connector plus two pin connectors.)
