What it is
A gathering of VW Bus, Vanagon, and Eurovan enthusiasts and their families, in Eastern Pennsylvania. (Of course all VW enthusiasts, are welcome, no matter what you drive.) See the YouTube video of a previous year.

This year's event coincides with East Greenville Community Day (Saturday), a local event which incldues live music, vendor booths, kids activities such as face painting, and even a marching band. The Bus Depot is only a block from the event.

In light of this, we are coordinating with the township to include a VOLKSWAGEN SHOW in the Bus Depot parking lot Saturday from 12-2. Buses, vans, campers, and vintage VW's of all types are welcome. This is a free event, and spectators will get to vote for their favorite VW. The winner will receive a $50 Bus Depot gift certificate! (Split in the event of a tie.)

Saturday, September 9. You can come for the day, or camp Friday night Sept 8, Saturday night Sept 9, or both. A day trip is free, and campign is nearly free. See below.

Where it is  
Green Lane Park,  Green Lane, PA.  Located in the scenic Perkiomen Valley, roughly midpoint between Philadelphia, Allentown, and Reading, PA.  From the intersection of Route 63 and Route 29 (Gravel Pike) in Green Lane, travel south 1.7 miles on Rt. 29, turn right onto Deep Creek Road (just past the crosswalk), and turn right at the lake (first intersection). The campground is just up the road on the right.

This scenic county park consists of over 3400 acres and three bodies of water totaling 870 acres. Four recreational activity sites offer a variety of uses, including hiking and horseback trails, tennis courts, two playgrounds, and a nature center. The park is also the starting point for the Perkiomen Trail, a walking/cycling trail that extends 20 miles to Valley Forge National Historical Park and then connects to the Schuylkill River Trail, which follows the Schuylkill River an additional 11 miles past Boathouse Row to the Philadelphia Art Museum.  

Schedule of Events
FRIDAY:  No events scheduled but some people arrive and camp for the night.  See below for camping info and reservations.
SAT. 11:15 AM:  Caravan from the Campground to the Bus Depot, 30 E. 4th St. East Greenville. You can participate in the VW show from 12-2, or just park and wander around Community Day.
SAT. 12 to 2: Volkswagen show in the Bus Depot parking lot, and Community Day a block away on Main Street.
SAT. 2 to 4: Bus Depot annual Warehouse Sale and Open House - see details below.
SAT. 5 PM:  Potluck dinner back at the campground. Feel free to bring a dish and join us even if not staying the night.
SAT. NIGHT: Many attendees spend the night and leave on Sunday; see camping info below. Come join us!

NOTE: Community Day has a Sunday rain date but the Warehouse Sale remains Saturday regardless. If the township postpones Community Day due to weather, the VW show will be canceled on Saturday, and the caravan to the Bus Depot will occur at 1:30 pm Saturday in advance of the Warehouse Sale.

Bus Depot Warehouse Sale - Saturday September 9, 2 to 4 pm  
The Bus Depot (which is usually closed weekends) will open from  2 to 4 pm.  A large selection of discontinued, distressed, and one-of-a-kind parts will be offered to attendees, at discounts of up to 80%.  See below for an additional 30% to 50% off coupon.  Also attendees can tour the Depot, poke around the warehouse, get a firsthand look at any products they're curious about, place new orders, and pick up any previously ordered parts. (If there are certain items you know you'll want, we strongly recommend ordering them in advance for pickup. This will reduce your wait time considerably when you arrive, and also gives us time to order any items for you that are not already in stock.)

Note: The Warehouse Sale is only open to VW owners and enthusiasts, and is by invitation only.
Unfortunately we cannot open our warehouse to every onlooker from Community Day, for logistical and security reasons. If you are camping, you will be required to show a copy of your camping reservation receipt, either on your phone or on paper, in order to gain admittance to the Warehouse Sale. If you are not camping, but are joining us or the day or just for the Warehouse Sale, just see the Bus Depot employee at the front door at least 15 minutes prior to the event and you will receive an admittance ticket.

For the Kids & Pets  
This is a county campground and a family friendly event. There are two playgrounds (one right in front of the campground), and plenty of paved and wooded trails for hiking or biking.  Dogs are permitted in the park and campground (as long as they are leashed). There will be face painting and other attractions for the kids Community Day in East Greenville.
 

Day Trip Information
There is no admission charge. If you're just coming for the day, please parallel park along the upper loop road just far enough off the loop road to allow vehicles to drive past. (See the map.) The area outside the loop is reserved for those who are camping, and there is no parking on the grass inside the loop.  
 

Camping Information - "Free" Group Camping, or Reserve a Site. (See details below.)

You can camp Friday night, Saturday night, or both. While the event began as a Saturday night only event, over the years more and more people have been staying both nights (or Friday night only).

Option 1: Group Camping reservations around the Upper Loop (see map) will be accepted until that space is filled. Space is $10 per night per vehicle. Included, if you reserve by September 3th, is a $10 voucher good toward any in-stock Bus Depot merchandise. So you get the full $10 back in the form of free Bus Depot goodies for your VW!  (Valid on absolutely anything in stock, no exclusions, that Fri. and Sat. only.)  Please note, these are not assigned sites - you just choose a spot around the upper loop shown in the map and stake your claim. It's informal and a great way to meet your fellow VW enthusiasts!

Important: In the "comments" section on checkout please specify the model/year/color of each vehicle. Reservations are not refundable. To get your $10 per night merchandise credit, simply bring a copy of your website Order Confirmation for the camping reservation to the shop on Fri. Sept 8 or Sat Sept 9, along with ID. (If you're reserving a site for someone else who willl be using the voucher, please tell us in advance so we let them use it.)  If these links do not work, then group camping is already sold out; see option 2 below instead.

Notes on Group Camping Area:  First, please camp on the outside of the loop only. Vehicles aren't allowed inside the loop and the rangers enforce it. Secondly, please be courteous to your fellow campers and keep a reasonably sized footprint. If you arrive on Friday or early Saturday and take up a ton of real estate, you'll only have to consolidate your space when others arrive. Finally, if it's rained recently and the grassy areas are soggy, please do not drive on them as it will leave tire tracks.

Option 2: Individual campsites around the Lower Loop. You can reserve individual sites for about $30 per night directly from the county park system, via this link. Please choose Deep Creek Campground (DC Sites).  Reservations must be made in advance. This will give you a lot more space, and may be useful if you have a larger VW camper such as a Rialta. If you have a VW Bus or Van you can fit two on one space and share with a friend.

Other Info
There are showers, but no utility hookups or sewer anywhere in the campground. Since it's a county park they have a "no alcohol" policy.
