This will roughly double your headlight brightness compared to the stock bulb. It is a direct replacement for the stock outer headlight bulb on an '86-91 Vanagon. However, due to its higher current draw, a relay kit is required. You can purchase this relay kit separately, or our complete VisionKit upgrade which includes everything you need - these bulbs, high-output low-beam bulbs, relays, wiring harnesses, fuses, and simple "plug-and--play" instructions - at a discount package price. Note, we also highly recommend checking/cleaning all grounds when using high-output bulbs.
