This bulb is brighter than stock and draws more wattage. As a result, on many vehicles it requires the installation of a headlight relay kit for safe use, to prevent blown fuses or burned headlight switches. We sell prepackaged relay kits for Vanagon owners who have converted to H4 headlights: Use this relay kit if you have an '80-85 Vanagon, or this one if you have an '86-91 Vanagon.

When installing an H4 bulb, you must not touch the bulb (only the base), as the oil from your fingers will cause the bulb to fail. No warranty on bulbs for this reason.
