This will fit front or rear as long as your existing pump has only one inlet and one outlet. Some Golfs, Jettas, Eurovans, etc. (but not Vanagons) had two-outlet pumps; if you need that version it is linked below. On some vehicles the orientation of the two blade terminals may not match your existing harness, as Volkswagen used various versions of this pump over the years. If so, just connect the two wires directly to the terminals using standard push-on connectors. (If it pumps in reverse you have them backwards, just reverse the two wires.)
