This gas-charged strut is a very cool modern replacement for the old mechanical prop on your Westy kitchen lid, for the same price as a stock replacement. Includes screws, hardware, and measurements/illustrations for easy ten-minute installation.
Note, this kit is intended for Westy cabinets that have a relatively tall wall next to the sink, like the one shown in the picture. Some 1980-82 Westies have a much shorter wall (more of a lip) and this will not be not as easy a fit. It is also not recommended for 1985-up, where the bottom mount doesn't go into the wall itself at all but rather downward into the sink area.
