Note, there has been an ongoing problem with '86-up Vanagon CAT's that don't fit right. Some have the wrong inlet flange and don't mate to the pipe properly, and others are the wrong length so the muffler doesn't line up to the brackets once installed. These ones fit.
Order one gasket and one donut, linked below. Some older connecting pipes took a gasket on both ends, and if that's what you have you will need to keep it that way (so 2 gaskets and no donut). If you're not sure, you could just order a spare gasket anyway; better to spend the extra $2 than to have the exhaust apart and then discover you're short a gasket.
