Note to 1985 Vanagon owners: This is for 1985 VIN # 24-F-060 000 and up, which would originally have had plastic (not metal) coolant pipes from front to back. However, many Vanagons have had those plastic pipes replaced by stainless steel ones, so just checking whether you have plastic pipes may not be enough. Best is to go by VIN, but alternatively you can go with this version either way, and if it turns out you have the early setup you can cut the flared end off of the hose or purchase the adapter linked below.
