Note for 1985 Owners Only: In mid 1985 (VIN 24-F-060 001) VW went from metal to plastic for the long pipes that go front to rear under your van. Best way to be sure what you need is checking your VIN. Visually, if you have plastic pipes choose the "Mid to Late 1985" option in the drop down menu above. If your pipes are metal but NOT stainless steel, choose the "Early to Mid 1985" option. If your pipes are stainless steel, someone already upgraded them but you could still have either style, so best is to go by VIN, or If your stainless pipes are 1.25" in diameter you need the "Early to Mid-1985" kit; and if 1.5" you need the "Mid to late 1985" kit.
Note for Early 1983 Owners Only: There were some rare very early 1983's that were configured differently (did NOT have the H-pipe next to the pressurized coolant reservoir) and if you have one of those this kit will not fit.
Heater Hoses: This kit includes heater hoses up to where the heater tees are near the trans. It does not include hoses from there to the heaters, which do not fail as often.
