Now in its fouth generation, the original Easy Affordable Awning has taken on a life of its own! What began as an idea for a simple VW Bus or Van awning that would go up in minutes without any mods to your vehicle, has evolved into something much more. When we introduced the first generation years ago, we had no idea that it would catch on not just among VW owners, but also among enthusiasts of everything from Land Rovers to trailer campers.

It's still the cheapest, simplest awning for a VW van, and even the basic $119 model provides all you need for most VW applications. But now, with your choice of inexpensive mounts, it's equally at home on virtually any SUV, van, Jeep, minivan, truck, camper, or trailer ... or even your house to provide shade over your patio when not traveling. Still with no permanent mods to your vehicle, and no need to stake it down.  What's more, our optional freestanding kit allows you to use it as a stand-alone shelter when you pull away from your campsite (or even around the house).

Packs small ... extends big.

The Ezy-Awning takes almost no space when stored. It fits into a small storage bag (included) roughly the same size and weight as a "chair-in-a-bag" - about 26 inches tall by 6 inches across. But it extends to either approximately 8 X 8 feet or 8 X 11 feet (depending on model chosen) when you put it up.

Simple yet sturdy.

The Ezy-Awning is made of specially treated, waterproof and UV resistant nylon (strong yet lightweight), with sturdy chrome passivate coated metal poles and fiberglass center supports. Its domed roof, with pole support on all four sides, not only makes it structurally strong but also allows rainwater to roll off of it - preventing the sag that flat-topped awnings suffer during rain storms. The simple cross-brace design allows your Ezy-Awning to go from bag to vehicle in just a few minutes, without having to modify your vehicle or permanently attach a frame or box to your roof line. The learning curve is fast; it may take you 15 minutes to put up the first few times but will probably take you closer to 5 minutes once you've gotten used to it.

No need to stake it down.

As shipped, the Ezy-Awning can be held down by as little as two stakes - one through each leg - and no guy ropes (although guy ropes and additional stakes are provided for use in windier conditions). But add our inexpensive Wheel Mount Kit, and the awning is fully self-supporting, without the need for any stakes or ropes at all. This makes it perfect for tailgating, concerts, swap meets, flea markets, or other locations where you can't stake into the ground. The design is very simple - the awning legs angle back to the vehicle and attach to mounts that go under your tires. Therefore your vehicle's own weigh holds the awning down. Have a Bus or Vanagon?  Our deluxe Jackpoint / Wheel Mount Kit also allows you to attach the awning legs to your stock factory jacking points (or under the wheels if you prefer).

Wheel Mount Kit (for all vehicles):  For use with any vehicle. Can be used on side of vehicle (under two wheels on same side) or front or rear (under both front or both rear wheels). As shipped, the Ezy-Awning attaches to the rain gutter of a Volkswagen Bus or Vanagon (with or without poptop), or any other vehicle with a similar rain gutter, by way of a pole that clamps inside the gutter. Add the following optional mounts (from just $6.95) to attach the Ezy Awning to virtually any other vehicle - an SUV, van, minivan, pickup truck, camper, camping trailer, you name it. Use it on any side of your vehicle, as a portable carport while working on your vehicle, or even at home over your patio. (Note: these mounts can be used for our Add-A-Room as well.)

Hook and Loop Strap Kit:  This heavy-duty Velcro-style strap kit is a quickest, easiest way to affix the Ezy-Awning to most SUV's, minivans, and station wagons. If you have a vehicle with a roof rack, just wrap these strong (21 lb.shear stength) hook-and-loop straps around  the vertical awning rail and the side rail of your roof rack (or any other suitable point on your vehicle). Also can be used to attach the awning to a suitable point on your home, deck or patio - or anywhwere you can strap it to a fixed object. Price is for 1 yard (about 1m) of heavy-duty strap, which you can cut into any number of smaller straps to suit your needs. One yard is usually plenty for making several Awning straps. Eurovan Poptop Camper Strap Kit:  For Eurovans with Pop Tops. These allow you to use your awning with the poptop raised. (To use it with the top closed, you will need the suction cup mounts above.)
