Volkswagen superseded the original to this version, which is exactly the same except for the wiring plug itself. You can can adapt the wires in either of two ways:
1) As shipped, this kit includes the necessary insulated crimp-on terminals, and a diagram showing which wire goes to which of the four pins. If you're handy, just cut off your existing plug, crimp the included ends onto the wires, and push them onto the pins on the actuator. (3 or 4 wires depending on the door.) It just takes a few minutes.
2) Plug and Play solution: If you don't feel comfortable crimping on new ends, Volkswagen makes an adapter harness that avoids that. Just plug one end of the adapter into your existing harness, and the other end into the new actuator, and you're done. Nothing to crimp. In that case you will need this actuator kit PLUS one of the adapters linked below. One version is for either front door, and the other is for a sliding door or tailgate, so order the appropriate one. They are genuine VW products.
Note: If using this on a tailgate, re-use the bracket from your existing actuator.
