This tank is for Vanagons that have a plastic fuel filler pipe, and either a square plastic fuel filter just before the fuel pump, or in rare cases an adapter in place of that fuel filter that reduces the fuel line size from 11mm to 7mm.
1.9L Vanagon owners: We recommend confirming that this is the tank you need, as they get swapped out over the years. If your fuel filler pipe is black plastic, then this is the tank you need. If it is metal (gold colored if cleaned off) then you need the 251201075AD tank linked below.
2.1L Vanagon owners: Especially if you have a mid 1990 or 1991 Vanagon, you may need a 251201075AH tank linked below, which is identical to this one but has an 11 mm rather than 7 mm outlet to the fuel pump. You can tell by measuring the outlet from the tank. Or you can tell by looking at your fuel filter(s). If you do NOT have either a square plastic fuel filter in front of the pump OR a reducer converting the fuel line from 11 to 7 mm, and instead have ONLY a metal-canister fuel filter after the pump, than you need the AH tank linked below.
