This muffler is a direct replacement with the same bolt-on flanges as your original, so it just bolts right on. Some others on the market are sold as "Vanagon" mufflers but are actually universal ones that must be welded on (which can become a big hassle if you have to replace your CAT or your muffler down the road).
Two notes about late Vanagon stainless steel mufflers (virtually all, not just ours): First, the flanges themselves aren't stainless, just the muffler itself. (This is the norm on stainless steel mufflers but not often mentioned.) Second, they tend to be a tad slimmer in diameter than the original, so if you are using original muffler straps you may have to shim them slightly for a tight fit. If you'd rather not bother with that, we also offer a conventional steel muffler (linked below) that is an exact fit including the diameter.
